What non-skiing winter activities are close to Wandering Moose?
Snowshoeing at the Nordic Center, snow tubing, fat biking, sleigh rides, full moon hikes, ice skating, pinball and arcade games, riverside walks, and escape rooms. Most are within 5-15 minutes of the house.
Can I rent snowshoes near the property?
Yes. Stratton Mountain Nordic Center, just 5 minutes away, rents snowshoes by the hour and maintains marked trails. Hours vary seasonally, so call ahead at 802-297-4567.
Does the Stratton shuttle run in winter?
Yes. The shuttle stops near the driveway on winter weekends and holidays. Check the current schedule on the Stratton Resort website before your stay.
Are pets allowed at Wandering Moose?
Well-behaved dogs are welcome. A pet fee of $75 per night per pet applies. Contact us before booking if you have questions about your specific pet.
What should I pack for a winter stay in Winhall?
Warm layers, insulated boots, gloves, a hat, and a good winter coat. Bring a camera for the snowy landscape. After outdoor time, you'll warm up fast at our heated pool, hot tub, and fire pit.
